Coral Reef Ideations

These are for a student film project that I am currently working on. They are environment ideations and asset ideas for developing our underwater world.

A Teaspoon of Sugar

This is a redo of the original box and key project with the well from Fall 2014. I recreated my story to be about two little girls. The younger girl, Ivy, who is sitting in the chair, is a petulant child who does not want to share her tea party with anyone else. The older girl, Avery, has come to take a teaspoon of sugar from her sugar bowl in order to bring goodness back to her kingdom. Ivy has taken all of the good from life and is hoarding it in her garden.

George Grosz Inspired

This project was based on the style of George Grosz. The paintings are story moments from the story The Body Snatchers. George Grosz has a style all of his own, and I came across a lot of trouble with drawing caricatures as convincing in personality and mood as he does. I will have to do many more studies of his in the future.

Norman Rockwell Inspired

This project was based on the Norman Rockwell painting Homecoming Marine. The painting below depicts the younger brother, years later, realizing that his brother changed when he went away to fight the war. I love Norman Rockwell's paintings and I hope to develop my painting skills to be more like his.

Study of a Stool

The purpose of this study was to try and capture different materials while still keep a painterly quality to my work.

Box and Key to A Well in the Clouds

This was for our first BFA project in Fall 2014. We were asked to design a box with something good inside, and a key to that box. My initial idea was to create a bucket to a well that could not get water unless it was unlocked with a key. The bucket was on top of a well up in the clouds and the hero character would have to sacrifice the last living plant in order to open the box and let rain pour down on the land again.
